I turn 48 this year. It is very much time to start taking care of the skin on my whole body, just not on my face. My skin care routine (for my face) is very involved and cost a small fortune but my body? I use a pretty standard bar of soap and body lotion when I remember and my skin is starting to show the lack of attention and care.
About a month ago, I was heading into Ulta to change all of this! Thankfully, a very nice sales person pointed me in the right direction, and I came home with a pretty fabulous lineup. I have been very consistent in the application, and I must say I am very happy. Does my skin look 25? Absolute not, but it looks hydrated and far more even in tone.
Here, my friends, is what I came home with!
PURE GOAT MILK BODY BAR SOAP- How great could a bar of soap be? Amazing. Truth be told, I walked into Ulta with the intention of purchasing a body gel wash until the sales person told me this bar of soap was her favorite body care product. It leaves my skin clean and moisturized. Apparently, goats milk has the same pH balance as human skin. Who knew? Coincidentally, just days after buying this bar of soap, Jessica and Jen of Fat Mascara, my favorite beauty podcast, interviewed Chris Buckley of Bradford Soaps. Great listen, and I was only further convinced that a bar was the way to go. NO PLASTIC PACKAGING and less water used to make it. Mother Earth will thank you!
SheaMoisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Body Oil - I layer this on top of the moisturizer. It seems to keep my skin looking hydrated all day. It also has a lovely fragrance.
Medix 5.5 Retinol Cream with Ferulic Acid Anti-Sagging Treatment - Now, I use a Retinol for my face so why not my body? There were several mentioned on Fat Mascara’s (again my favorite beauty podcast) episode 290, and I picked one that was recommenced by the doctor they spoke to. It was also recommended to use a Retinol in the pm. It can make your skin sensitive to the sun.
