Styling Cordless/Rechargeable Lamps

Among the thousands of things that inspired me, on the island of Nantucket, this little lamp styled perfectly in a bookcase was one of them. This adorable little lamp sits in dining room at the stylish Graydon Hotel. We stayed here during our visit and could not recommend it enough.
I must note that the design firm Roman and William can take credit for the impeccable interiors at Grardon. You may have seen their work which includes the Tin Building and The Met British Galleries in New York and many of Gwyneth Paltrow's homes including her residence in Montecito California....the list goes on and on!

Now how to create your own version of this in your home?
1- Where? I think I am going to add a mini lamp in a few spots. The back bar and two in the living room's book shelf.

2. Size? Measure each space so the lamp fits the space both physically and visually. There should be at least three inches clearance.

3. Finish? I am going to buy brass for both spaces. Most of my hardwired lighting is in polish nickel and adding a touch of brass warms a spaces. I love mixed metals but I would not do more then two finishes in a space.

4. Power? Now the lamps above are traditional lamps that needs plugging into a outlet. I do not want to hire an electrician to place outlets in my bookshelves which will be costly. The best option is a cordless/rechargeable lamp. There are so many cute ones on the market now!

Here are a few that I am looking at that could work for your space as well!
